Now we are over a week into October, we feel it’s safe enough to mention our Christmas beer without being shouted at.
Taking inspiration from a conversation with a friend, we wanted to do a seasonal beer but stay away from the anything with spices.
Not everyone likes mice pies or Chrismas pudding, so what else was popular around Christmas?
How about a nice Black Forest Gateaux? So we set about to create a recipe with this in mind.
The base of the beer is a fairly traditional oatmeal stout with an extra touch of chocolate malt.
Added to this was cherry and almond to bring it all together to produce our Black Forest Stout.
